More federal immigration raids hit a Santa Ana neighborhood on Sunday, expanding beyond the raids at Home Depots and car washes that Orange County has seen in the past few weeks.

The Voice of OC reports that  a longtime Santa Ana resident was detained as he was out collecting cans and bottles to recycle on Sunday morning. Residents say the whole incident took about 8 minutes.

Shortly after it happened, Santa Ana Councilman Jonathan Hernandez, who lives right down the street, warned neighbors in Spanish to look out for federal immigration agents. He told the Voice of OC that this was the first time ICE agents were spotted in a neighborhood in Santa Ana.

Officials say at least 50 Orange County residents had been caught up in the sweeps as of Thursday.
